About Our Camp

Nestled on 40 acres of quiet forest and sun-warmed granite along the edge of Sierra National Forest, Musick Creek Falls is designed to immerse guests in nature rather than simply accommodate them. Located at 4,800 feet and just minutes from Shaver Lake, this private sanctuary blends adventure, comfort, and low-impact stewardship — making it one of the most unique camping destinations in the Shaver Lake area.

Each of the four campsites is thoughtfully placed among manzanita and cedars and features several cascading waterfalls. The creek carves natural swimming holes into smooth granite before dropping into larger pools. Campers fall asleep to the steady sound of flowing water. The raw beauty of the land is hard to miss. Sites come with gazebos, picnic tables, fire pits, spring water spigots, and accommodating hosts who also have an arsenal of camping gear which they are happy to lend should the need arise.  Cedar chips are laid down in some sites but they remain mostly primitive as they have been for centuries.

With  no light pollution or city noise, the night sky opens into a stunning view of the cosmos while water and wind become the soundtrack. Guests spend their days swimming, scrambling over granite boulders, gold panning, exploring nearby lakes and trailheads, or simply relaxing creek side as the natives have for millennia.  The Nuiim, Mono, and Potuck people have called this very land sacred for as far back as can be as the spoken history can recall.

Sustainability is central to the experience. Musick Creek Falls operates with a carbon-negative footprint and follows a low-impact ethos shaped by composting toilets, minimal development, fuel reduction, and stewardship practices inspired by traditional Sierra land care. By sharing the land thoughtfully, the goal is to deepen each guest’s connection to the Sierra Nevada while helping protect it for generations to come.

Combined with the intimate setting, private waterfalls, pristine surroundings, and the hospitality of Shandie and Jesse (learn more in our Campers Hub), Musick Creek Falls is not your ordinary campground.  See what hundreds of other campers have to say in the reviews section below.
